BIO

It's hard to pin down exactly what genre of music I produce. I play lots of instruments, all self-taught. And I put those to use creating music that could be called indie rock, jangle pop, funk, grunge, surf rock, and probably many other things. Genres are handy for identifying music, I think, but I never really liked them as something to follow. So I've never really attempted to be an "indie musician" or "funk artist" or anything specific like that. My style is very much an equal-parts mix of every kind of music I enjoy.

I'll probably always play music. Just like drawing and visual arts, music has been there since the start and will likely stick around until I drop.

RELEASES
Grip Tape started getting thought up back when I was in high school and nearly 0 songs from the original cut made it to the final one. It started as a pretty hopeful project about my goals and ended up being a bit more grounded and honestly fairly cynical about how stagnant I began to feel in many aspects of my life. The theme of this project was movement and using it as a pretty direct metaphor for personal growth. The sounds on this project are all over the place. It draws influence from funk, indie rock, and some classic rock as well.

GRIP TAPE
String Therapy is an EP made up of a few songs I'd written to vent some frustrations about a past relationship. They prominently feature guitar which is where the name comes from. String Therapy's title track is a meditative little song I like to play to relax a bit sometimes.

STRING THERAPY
Gum Soul is a collection of some cheesy songs about an embarrassingly tumultuous friendship. I still like a few of the tracks on it but I mostly look at this project as having been inspired by some very naive times. It was absolutely necessary to process those feelings through my art, but I only wish I hadn't given those feelings as much attention as they got.
